Guardians of the Galaxy VOL.2: REVIEW

Guardians of the Galaxy VOL.2: REVIEW

Director: James Gunn
Stars:      Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace , Michael                    Rooker.

It's sequel to the 2014 movie Guardians of the galaxy. The movie is about Peter Quill finding and bonding with his dad and his team's space adventures and that's about it.

GOOD:

The "Good" about this movie is very limited so let's just get that out of the way as quickly as possible.
I would start with my most favorite character "Rocket Racoon" as expected he was at his humorous best. Basically, he is the one lighting up the movie throughout.

Baby Groot was the next best thing, people (Including me) were expecting him to cute and adorable and he nailed that part awesomely. plus hi Chemistry with Rocket is one the highlights of the movie.

In a Marvel movie great action is a given and yes here too the action was great. was it enough to save the movie? well, that is another question entirely, and I suggest you guys stay tuned for the "BAD" part of this review for that.

BAD:

Personally, Guardians of the galaxy is my least favorite movie in the Marvel cinematic universe. But I am completely unbiased in reviewing this movie. I was expecting VOL.2 to be a let down because let's face it the first one was great but not that great plus sequels often are let downs.

The movie is based mostly on Star Lord's bonding with his dad and that is pretty cool is a pretty cool part of the movie but that's not enough to base an entire movie on. I mean you have to consider that you other superheroes in the movie too and you have to give them something to do and that something shouldn't look forced either. And the problem here is that they have given the other superheroes things to do that have nothing to do with anything and it looked forced. I mean Peter is bonding with his dad with whom the rest of the team has nothing to do with? so you give them stupid fights and adventures?

My next point is the "Golden people" what's their deal? who are they? what do they want? what do they have to do with anything? I mean they just come in makes a mess and then leave? and then come again to make a mess?

combining with the points above I would say that they rushed the movie very much, it almost looked like they wanted to just be done with it. Did they think the first one was great so people will love the second one anyway?

One of the highlights of Guardians of the galaxy (both) was the humor, and believe me I am all for it, I loved it but there is such a thing as too much humor, and that was a problem with VOL.2. They had too many jokes and too much humor and no focus on the rest of the movie.

THE FINAL WORD:

Guardians of the galaxy VOL.2 was made for "The fans" who will watch it no matter what I say, so I am talking to the rest of you Non-fans avoid this one.

Unforgettable: Review

Unforgettable: Review

Director:  Denise Di Novi
Writers:   Christina Hodson, David Leslie Johnson (screenplay) (as David Johnson)
Stars:       Rosario Dawson, Katherine Heigl, Geoff Stults

I saw this movie that forced me to do an early comeback to my blog. The name of the movie was Unforgettable which is so ironic because it was so forgettable it forced me to write about it as soon as possible otherwise I would not remember it.
I am not gonna spend too much time on it because let's face it, it's not worth it.

Normally I divide my reviews into sections of "GOOD", "BAD", and "THE FINAL WORD" but for this one, I am just gonna tell you guys what's bad about this movie, because there is nothing good about it.

I would like to start with the script. The script was so bad that at times I felt like they didn't have a script at all and just kinda rolled with it. it was confusing, it was rushed, it was bad.

Another thing I absolutely despised, and what bothered me throughout the movie was the little things that (I think) they did to make the things work out somehow. for example, Every time they leave the car they leave their phone behind in the car. I mean in this day and age who does that?
or in the scene where Rosario Dawson is trying to call 911 and Katherine Heigl cuts off the line and then she can't call! isn't it 2017? even in the movie all of them have iphones.

The next is the final thing I would like to talk about is the fact that there is no build up whatsoever in the movie. eg, Katherine Heigl's character is kind of creepy, crazy in this movie and considering the fact that it was supposed to be a thriller, one would think that they would take their time revealing that but NO, she is crazy from the start and it kinda kills the whole point of a thriller.

This is supposed to be the part of the review where I tell you whether you should watch the movie or not. But I think you guys know that by now. So, yeah! avoid it even if they are paying you.

REVIEW: John Wick: Chapter 2

REVIEW: John Wick: Chapter 2

Director:  Chad Stahelski
Stars:        Keanu Reeves, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ian McShane and more.

THE STORY:

John Wick Chapter 2 is a sequel to the 2014 movie John Wick. it's an action packed movie where there is not a really complicated or a long story, but the main story is that John Wick finds out that there is a huge bounty on his head and he is trying to survive and kill the opponents.

GOOD:

If you remember the first movie you would also remember that majority of us were really reluctant to watch that movie at first but it was Keanu Reeves who made us fall in love with John Wick and that is the case here, Keanu is the reason then movie shines, and I feel like it can be no one else. His acting, his dialogue delivery (especially), his whole presence adds to the movie.

The second thing that I think increased the beauty of the movie was the action, as it was expected since the action in the first John Wick was amazing as well. but here they have built on that action, even more, especially the small parts of the hand to hand combat. It's realistic, it will keep your adrenalin rushing, and Keanu Reeves definitely had a hand in that too, he performed those action scenes and those fights with absolute perfection.

I had a small doubt before watching the movie that they are probably gonna continue from where they left off and it's just gonna be nonsense action. But I was wrong, although the first fight scene was a continuation of the last movie but that was only one scene and that's it after that they kinda created a new plot, which gave me my next thing to worry about, that they are gonna leave the old things that we loved about the first John Wick and I would miss those things, but surprise surprise, they actually kept the whole world of John Wick from the first movie, and they actually built on that some more which was certainly more than my expectations and I loved it.

BAD:

The first thing that I felt was missing from the movie had more to do with the fact that the first John Wick set the bar very high than it had to do with the fact that John Wick chapter 2 was bad. The first John Wick was not just good it was "surprisingly good" which means, like I said, that nobody expected it to be that good but it was and ultimately we ended up expecting way more than we should have from John Wick chapter 2 and that is why some of us might end up a little bit disappointed, especially with the fact that chapter 2 is slower and less exciting that the first one.

The next thing I felt could have been better was the motivation behind Keanu reeves coming back as a Hitman. In the first movie, he was avenging a puppy, that was his last connection to his dead wife whom he loved and that was amazing, I think it's safe to say that everyone felt it and connected with it, and everyone got why a retired Hitman came out of retirement, but in John Wick chapter 2 the connection is missing and I really felt that.

THE FINAL WORD:

Definitely, watch it guys, it's a must watch, I loved it, I enjoyed it and I bet you will too.

REVIEW: Moana

REVIEW: Moana

Directors:  Ron Clements, Don Hall and more
Writers:   Jared Bush (screenplay), Ron Clements (story by) and more
Stars:      Auli'i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Rachel House and more

THE STORY:

A heart of the mother island, stolen by a demigod needs to be restored to it;s place in order to save the world from dying and the daughter of the Chief of an island sets out to complete that task but first, she needs to find the demigod.

GOOD:

  • Moana has some enjoyable comedy that actually makes you laugh. be at the silly dancing of a kid in the island or Dwayne Johnsn's witty jokes as the demigod Maui or the Chief's daughter when she is a baby you will laugh during the movie.
  • The message of goodness and the emotions related to that, which you will find in every Disney movie works here too.
  • A really good movie for kids.

BAD:

  • Every time I watch a Disney fairytale the one thing I always have a problem with is the songs after a certain time. I believe they should avoid the songs or maybe just keep to like one song for a movie. Now that's just my opinion some people might actually like it and considering it's a movie for kids I might be very wrong.
  • Okay, so the chief daughter is chosen by the sea to carry out the task and she can ask the ocean to pretty much do anything she wants, yet she needs to sail across the ocean to find the demigod and then the mother island when she could have been taken by the ocean easily. And not to mention the evil Villain who will die if touched by water could have been defeated or at least controlled by the "ocean" without any trouble.

THE FINAL WORD:

When you read this review please keep in mind that it is a movie for kids, after all, I recommend you take your kids to the movie they will love it. And for adults, please avoid it if you have no kids with you.
