OK Jaanu - Movie Review

OK Jaanu - Movie Review

Director:  Shaad Ali
Writers:   Mani Ratnam (story and screenplay), Gulzar (dialogue)
Stars:       Aditya Roy Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and more.

A romantic comedy about two young adults who are in a live-in relationship and who never wants to get married. but will it work out like that or not, that is the story.

RATING:

Good: 44%
Bad:  56%

GOOD:

  • Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor share a great chemistry as expected. The way the two stars have portrayed falling in love and the beginning of a new relationship is excellent and surely relatable of young adults The two were seen together in Aashiqui 2 and were loved by everyone.
  • I am not a very big fan of Shraddha Kapoor but I must admit she looks stunning throughout the movie.
  • The performance of both the lead actors and Naseeruddin shah was excellent.
  • The first lovemaking scene (Yes I said it) and the whole build up for the scene was captivating. it will surely make your heart beat a little faster and make you smile, possibly even giggle. plus the background music with the whole scene really sets the mode.
  • Last but not at all the least, A.R Rahman sir's music. I gotta be honest, the music album didn't impress me when it released, except for two songs Inna sona and The Humma song which I loved. but when I heard the music with the specific scenes it really amazed me, the music truly compliments every scene of the movie.
BAD:

  • The movie is based on a very cliched theme that we have seen many times and both Hollywood and Bollywood, i-e A young couple who wants to be in a relationship with no strings attached because at least one of them have parents who are separated, but they end up falling in love, or in the case of OK Jaanu, getting married.
  • I didn't like the ending. just like the theme, the ending was also cliched. I think they could have given it a much better ending, maybe they could have separated them and made them choose their career while still being in love, which, let's face it, would have been much more realistic. not every story needs a happy ending.
  • if they had avoided the whole cliched ending there would have been no need to shove in unnecessary families. Both Aditya Roy Kapoor's and Shraddha Kapoor's characters are shown to be very independent in the movie, I think their family interference was unnecessary. the reason I say that this was because of the ending is because I feel like the families were only introduced so that they can be at the wedding.
THEFINAL WORD:

If you like to be critical about movies and use your brain about movies a lot then avoid it, otherwise it's a fun one-time watch. I had fun watching it.

A Monster Calls - Movie Review

Director: J.A. Bayona

Writers:   Patrick Ness ... (screenplay)

Patrick Ness ... (based on the novel written by)

Siobhan Dowd ... (from an original idea by)
Stars:     Lewis MacDougall, Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Liam Neeson | and more

The movie revolves around a kid with a disturbed life especially because of his mother with a terminal disease, who looks for help from a tree monster to cope with his troubles.

GOOD:

  • What I loved about the movie were the stories that the tree (played by Liam Neeson) tells. In his own way, the tree is trying to teach the kid how to deal with life and it really works.
  • Lewis MacDougall the lead actor although a kid is really amazing in his character. I was worried about "a kid" playing the lead role but the movie proved me wrong. another great performance was by Felicity jones, she is so good she would break your heart with her acting.
BAD:

  • I guess I should warn you that it's a little too dark for kids under 13 years of age. other than that I didn't find anything that could be termed as bad.

THE FINAL WORD:

Don't take kids under 13 years with you, but definitely, watch this movie. I enjoyed it and I am sure so would you.

Underworld: Blood Wars - Movie Review

Underworld: Blood Wars - Movie Review

Director: Anna Foerster
Writers: Cory Goodman   (screenplay)
                    Kyle Ward      (story by) and
               Cory Goodman    (story by)
Kevin Grevioux  (based on characters created by) and
Len Wiseman    (based on characters created by) &
Danny McBride  (based on characters created by)
Stars: Kate Beckinsale, Theo James, Tobias Menzies

GOOD:

  • The action of the movie is really cool. actually cooler than what I had expected.
  • I think "Underworld: Blood wars" is better than the previous movies of the franchise but that is because the previous movies were not really any good.

BAD:

  • Like I said the action is cool enough but that is not enough. Nowadays we get so many action movies and being Hollywood they usually have great action and that's why great action is no longer considered a reason for a great movie. and sadly Underworld: blood wars fails to give us anything good other than action.
  • To watch this movie you have to assume that everyone in the world is a vampire. because surprisingly no one knows that there is a war going on. I personally found that really annoying and strange.
  • You have to be familiar with the previous movies because if you are not then it will be really hard for you to catch up. and if you are familiar with the previous movies and you didn't like it then you will be watching the same thing you didn't really like before.
  • Personally, I think they should have stopped after the first underworld movie, we have had about enough of remakes and reboots and sequels.

THE FINAL WORD:

  • Avoid it guys. seriously don't waste your time. I didn't enjoy the movie at all and I watch the bad movies so you don't have to. :-)
