REVIEW: Jolly LLB 2

REVIEW: Jolly LLB 2

Director:  Subhash Kapoor
Stars:       Sudhanva Deshpande, Avijit Dutt, Nikhil Dwivedi

THE STORY:

An immoral Lawyer Jagdish Mishra/Jolly (Akshay Kumar) fight for justice after an innocent girl who's husband was murdered by some corrupt cops, commits suicide.

THE GOOD:

Jolly LLB 2 is a very simple yet hard hitting movie. I was expecting nothing less considering it being an Akshay Kumar movie who has given nothing but brilliance with his past few performances, and Akshay as Jolly exceeded my expectations by miles. Once again he has delivered a spectacular performance. Be it comedy or a sad scene Akshay will make you feel what he is feeling and that's the beauty of his performance.

Jolly LLB is a perfect blend of comedy and tragedy. When I saw the trailer I was afraid that they are gonna get one of the parts wrong. but I am glad they did.t, the comedy part will make you laugh and the tragedy will make you cry. A couple of scenes that I feel like I should mention because they were that awesome, first is where Hina (the girl who commits suicide) breaks down in front of Akshay when he tricks her into giving him money, and one where after Akshay's fraud comes to light he breaks down in front of his father, these two scenes brought tears to my eyes.

Last but not least at all was the message of unity that the movie gave, especially Akshay's speech at the end where he says that we don't need bad people it doesn't matter which religion they belong to, it felt like a perfect way to end a movie like this.

BAD:

All the big problems I have with Jolly LLB 2 can probably be summed into one giant problem and that's what I am gonna try to do, I hope you guys get it. Jolly LLB is a movie which starts with comedy and then with different turns of events it drifts into tragedy, but the problem is when the tragic and serious part of the movie starts Akshay is the only one who is serious. The characters of the judge and the defense lawyer should have been very serious characters but instead, they act like clowns and in scenes, they even try to be extra funny which completely contradicts the tone of the movie at that point in time. for example, The defense lawyer when insulted by Akshay in one scene turns to his assistant and asks him to write down the line (which Akshay uses to insult him). The judge acts like a clown all the time which, to be honest looks close to over-acting. The court looks like a casual place where friends get together and discuss problems, where anyone can reject the judge's orders or yell at the judge or argue with him.

Another small problem which now I feel that I should stop saying because almost every Bollywood movie has it, was the Jolly's wife (Huma Qureshi) her character was completely unnecessary in the movie.

THE FINAL WORD:

Do expect it to be a Bollywood movie which has mistakes and is nowhere near perfect but Definitely Watch it. its a simple movie with a hard hitting and a very positive message and should not be missed.

REVIEW: John Wick: Chapter 2

REVIEW: John Wick: Chapter 2

Director:  Chad Stahelski
Stars:        Keanu Reeves, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ian McShane and more.

THE STORY:

John Wick Chapter 2 is a sequel to the 2014 movie John Wick. it's an action packed movie where there is not a really complicated or a long story, but the main story is that John Wick finds out that there is a huge bounty on his head and he is trying to survive and kill the opponents.

GOOD:

If you remember the first movie you would also remember that majority of us were really reluctant to watch that movie at first but it was Keanu Reeves who made us fall in love with John Wick and that is the case here, Keanu is the reason then movie shines, and I feel like it can be no one else. His acting, his dialogue delivery (especially), his whole presence adds to the movie.

The second thing that I think increased the beauty of the movie was the action, as it was expected since the action in the first John Wick was amazing as well. but here they have built on that action, even more, especially the small parts of the hand to hand combat. It's realistic, it will keep your adrenalin rushing, and Keanu Reeves definitely had a hand in that too, he performed those action scenes and those fights with absolute perfection.

I had a small doubt before watching the movie that they are probably gonna continue from where they left off and it's just gonna be nonsense action. But I was wrong, although the first fight scene was a continuation of the last movie but that was only one scene and that's it after that they kinda created a new plot, which gave me my next thing to worry about, that they are gonna leave the old things that we loved about the first John Wick and I would miss those things, but surprise surprise, they actually kept the whole world of John Wick from the first movie, and they actually built on that some more which was certainly more than my expectations and I loved it.

BAD:

The first thing that I felt was missing from the movie had more to do with the fact that the first John Wick set the bar very high than it had to do with the fact that John Wick chapter 2 was bad. The first John Wick was not just good it was "surprisingly good" which means, like I said, that nobody expected it to be that good but it was and ultimately we ended up expecting way more than we should have from John Wick chapter 2 and that is why some of us might end up a little bit disappointed, especially with the fact that chapter 2 is slower and less exciting that the first one.

The next thing I felt could have been better was the motivation behind Keanu reeves coming back as a Hitman. In the first movie, he was avenging a puppy, that was his last connection to his dead wife whom he loved and that was amazing, I think it's safe to say that everyone felt it and connected with it, and everyone got why a retired Hitman came out of retirement, but in John Wick chapter 2 the connection is missing and I really felt that.

THE FINAL WORD:

Definitely, watch it guys, it's a must watch, I loved it, I enjoyed it and I bet you will too.

REVIEW: The LEGO Batman Movie

REVIEW: The LEGO Batman Movie

Director:  Chris McKay
Stars:       Jenny Slate, Ralph Fiennes, Channing Tatum and more.

THE STORY:

The LEGO Batman movie is a spin-off from The LEGO movie. The movie is a comedy about a narcissistic, self-obsessed Batman (which he actually is ;-)). Batman has to deal with the evil plans of the criminals of Gotham, including The Joker, and also raise a boy he adopted (Robin).

GOOD:

What I loved about it was the great comedy it had. Batman is such a dark character haunted by his past but even in other DC movies there are things that you could make fun of and for a long time people have been doing that, now finally it's official and the makers of The LEGO Batman movie used those points brilliantly. For example, if we look at the character of Batman, He is self-obsessed, narcissistic and LONELY, and there are jokes about all of them. I believe that this would have been an easy movie to make because the makers had endless resources to make fun of, they had comics, they had the DCEU, they even had the online WAR between DC and MARVEL fans to get help from (I am not saying they got any help from them), and they took advantage of that and gave us a great comedy.

The movie also has a serious portion which is like a family drama, and if you are or have been in the past a fan of the Batman Movies there is a chance that you will not end up being disappointed and you will really enjoy that part too.

Another thing that I loved in the movie was the animations of the LEGOs. The giant cars and planes and stuff being constructed from the LEGOs looked stunning. I loved it in The LEGO movie before this and I loved it here too if anything I would say that they have actually improved.

BAD:

Remember I said that the part about the family drama is something "GOOD" about this movie?
well, I stand by what I said, but for some people, it might be a turn-off, because, after the countless jokes and points at Batman and funny references to DC movies, and laughing your ass off, it is kinda hard to transition into a family drama. I am one of those people because until that part I was laughing like a crazy person, I had tears in my eyes because of the laughing and then suddenly everything changed and they gave me a family drama, I am not saying that the part of the family drama was bad, but I was expecting comedy until the end.

THE FINAL WORD:

A warning! if you have asthma or any breathing problem, either avoid it or take your inhaler with you because I guarantee that you will be laughing your ass off. I loved the movie and definitely recommend it to you guys.

REVIEW: Resident Evil: The final chapter

REVIEW: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Director:  Paul W.S. Anderson
Writer:    Paul W.S. Anderson
Stars:     Milla Jovovich, Iain Glen, Ali Larter and more.

THE STORY:

The story is pretty much like the Resident  evil movie that came before "The Final Chapter".
i-e They search for a cure to the virus and trying to take down Umbrella.

GOOD:

The only good thing about the movie was the fact that it is "The Final chapter" which means it is finally over.

BAD:

Okay so to start with I didn't really want to watch this movie because after the first three movies the movies were all very bad and they got worst by the movie. And surprise surprise!
I was right, there was nothing better in this one either.

Firstly, a long way into the movie nothing really happens, it's the same old thing of fighting the virus and finding the cure and talking about Umbrella. That made me wonder if "The final chapter" should have been made at all.

Then they tell you all these things that happened and that is supposed to be the reason for where they are right now in the movie but that only put a question mark on the former installments in the franchise because what they are telling us in this movie and what they have told us in the former movies does not match.

Resident evil: The final chapter has no story what so ever. The movie is filled with action sequences and that's about it. Why? I ask you Why would you try to ruin a perfectly good video game franchise like that? The video games have far better stories than the movies. someone should tell the makers of the movie that a movie has a lot more to it than just action.

THE FINAL WORD:

Thank God this franchise is finally over. I was waiting for this day to come. I hope to God that they don't try to reboot it now. And BTW DO NOT watch this movie.
